In the summer of 2013, Thijmen Piek and I joined the UIAA Lenin Peak Expedition, to the Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan. It was the first youth expedition to a peak above 7000 meter, and a large part of our team got to the summit push.
I however was less fortunate, as I sprained my ankle while going down after our acclimatisation tour. Unfortunately due to the weather, Thijmen and our other team-mates were unable to reach the summit. However, we have climbed a sub-peak of the Lenin, which was just above 6000 meters.
We climbed for a number of days, and below is a selection of the images I made there in the incredible landscape of Kyrgyzstan.
